A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"very lovely country style pub cottage, low ceilings. Very comfy inside very friendly staff overall good family experience. The food is of a good quality presented very well good menu, selection and alcoholic beverages as well as soft drinks. They also do hot drinks they do a fairly nice hot chocolate, Has a nice outdoor area. A decent size car park small play area for children with a small Wendy house. With this pub being in a cottage, you do get the very Kent countryside feel to it"
"Really lovely pub. We went for Sunday Roast which was cooked fresh and very very tasty. Also had a very nice fishcake starter and Camembert and cranberry baked cheese Service was warm and friendly and very good. Easy to park the car and very close to the M25 if you get bored of motorway service stations. Thank you. We will come back next time we are in the area."
"Lovely cosy pub, with excellent service and great food. Went for the whitebait, roast turkey, and Bailey's crème brûlée. The fish was great, larger than some whitebait and a nice breadcrumb. The turkey was moist with plenty of gravy, and all the trimmings (except Yorkshire puddings, boo). Then the dessert, the taste of Bailey's came through delightfully, and I loved how dark they dared to burn the sugar - also gave a lovely smell to the pub, accompanying the open fire. Choice of drinks was good, with a decent range of spirits, and three cask beers. And as mentioned before excellent, friendly service. We will return!"
"Great little village pub! We popped in today (Sunday) for lunch without booking and were really impressed. Great honest food, halibut in a butter and caper sauce was delicious & well presented and my better half enjoyed her roast beef with all the trimmings. Staff were really friendly, a warm and unpretentious cosy pub."
"What a gem of a place! Wonderful pub hidden away down a quiet road. Food was fabulous, in fact we both left absolutely stuffed as willpower seemed to have left us. Lovely friendly staff and clean pretty toilets. We will definitely be going back there again. We went at lunch time and it got quite busy so best phone ahead to book a table. Highly recommend."
"We stayed overnight in our campervan at this fantastic little pub and really enjoyed ourselves. We brought our two dogs and were all warmly welcomed by Kate the Landlady. We were able to let them off the lead inside in our own little alcove and enjoyed fabulous food (and drinks!) in a warm and extremely friendly environment. We highly recommend this lovely place and will hopefully return there again when we next go on our travels."
"I found this little gem after having a walk in Lullingston Country Park, the food was great, the atmosphere was exceptional and the customer service was out of this world. Loved Rod Stewart in the background, just made everything so chilled and relaxed, special thanks go to Kate and Gemma. Everything was top notch!"
"We had an 18th family party here. Kate was amazing, nothing was too much trouble she even put some of her own decorations up for us. Excellent food. Lovely venue. Thank you Kate, Max and team for really looking after us, everyone that came had a lovely time."
